Seville is calling…

Seville, the flamenco capital of Spain, known for its beautiful sunshine, orange trees, flamenco dancing and delightful tapas, is a city brimming with cultural wealth and fascinating history. However, its abundance of unique venues, fantastic meeting spaces and exciting team building activities also make it an ideal MICE destination in Spain.

As host of the Europa League, Seville’s Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium will stage the final of the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League, with the game scheduled for the 18th of May 2022 – it’s safe to say Seville is not unfamiliar with large scale events. So, how does it compare for the MICE market? Let’s take a look.

Venues

Seville certainly isn’t short of wonderful venues around the city offering a range of excellent options for your next meeting, conference or event.

A particular favourite of Panoptics is the Barcelo Renacimiento Hotel. This 5-star property is conveniently located just 10km from San Pablo airport and 2.5km away from Seville’s high-speed train station, while being just a short walk from the vibrant restaurants and bars which line the Alameda de Hércules. With just under 300 newly-renovated rooms, excellent facilities and 25 rooms of the Barcelo Convention Center, this hotel is the largest convention centre in Seville and an ideal spot for an incentive trip.

Another fantastic option for larger groups is Hotel Silken Al Andalus. This stylish 4-star establishment has over 600 bright, spacious rooms and is located near the world-famous Plaza de España and María Luisa Park making it an ideal spot for those looking to get out and explore Seville. It also boasts 15,000 m2 of gardens, fantastic on-site facilities, a swimming pool and a piano bar with live music.

Finally, we recommend the Ayre Hotel by the Palladium Group. Located right in front of the Santa Justa high-speed AVE train station making it extremely accessibly, this 4-star venue provides a wealth of excellent services and features to ensure a smooth, comfortable and unforgettable stay in Seville. It is also the first in the city of Seville to implement a Sustainable Management strategy with a clear Social and Environmental commitment.

Experience

The wonderful city offers a huge array of fun and exciting team building activities and excursions that are sure to make for an unforgettable trip. From an afternoon of beer tasting at the Cruzcampo Beer Factory where visitors can learn about the brewery’s interesting history and taste the local beer; to exploring Sevillie’s Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium; to visiting the city’s historic centre by the banks of the Guadalquivir River, which happens to be one of the biggest historic centres in Europe, to immerse yourself in the fascinating history of Seville.

For the adventure-seekers among us, there are plenty of great outdoor activities to get involved in. From canoeing to cycling around the city, you can even take a cruise along the beautiful Guadalquivir River.

If that doesn’t take your fancy, why not get stuck into a group cooking activity. Experience what it’s like to work with fresh, local produce from Spain and try your hand at cooking traditional, authentic recipes from Seville to later be enjoyed in a sit-down meal together.

Gastronomy

In terms of tasty gastronomy, Seville has you covered. From excellent eateries like the Quimera Terrace, located in the Meliá hotel, which offers guests a beautiful dining experience overlooking the world-famous Plaza de España; to Robles Aljarafe Restaurant which can seat up to 400 pax and serves up delicious, authentic Andalusian cuisine in the very heart of Aljarafe, just ten minutes from Seville’s historic centre; and finally, the La Raza Puerto Sevilla, which boasts breathtaking views of Guadalquivir River from its impressive terrace area and offers innovative cocktails and delightful tapas with an international twist. The food scene in Seville is vibrant, exciting and delicious, offering guests a true gastronomic experience through the tastes of Spain.

Oh, and make sure to try some authentic tapas dishes like ‘Presa Iberica’ (pork shoulder) and ‘Cola de Toro’ (bull tail), while your there!
