Top 5 Venues in Cardiff

Just a stone’s throw from the bustling city atmosphere of Cardiff, tucked away in the countryside, lies the LLanerch Vineyard. A gorgeous hotel comprised of quaint cottages set upon a working vineyard, this hotel makes for a beautiful and unique setting. We argue it has to be the perfect place for a wine reception, with gorgeous Cairiad wine made on-site!

The venue is gorgeously diverse, with ample space for different types of meetings and events as well as of course cosy overnight getaways. Plan a meal in the award-winning restaurant, awarded two rosettes by the AA for culinary excellence, and treat yourself to decadent seasonal menus using only the best local produce. Perhaps you’re thinking bigger than a dinner, don’t fret – Llanerch has ample space for your events. From space perfectly suited to hold meetings to unforgettable corporate away days and team building experiences, not to forget guided tours of the vineyard and tasting experiences this venue really can cater to every need!

Did somebody say spa break? We certainly did. Another pick from us that can be found just outside of the busy hubbub of the city centre – Holm House is a gorgeous hotel and venue right by the sea. The 5 star hotel is gorgeously luxurious throughout, from the spa to the restaurant, to the venue itself, everything is pure decadence.

The venue itself was built in 1926 and sits on a gorgeous marine promenade. The exterior of Holm House is stunning, as you may expect from a stately home of that age! However, don’t let the age of the building fool you into thinking this venue is outdated as behind the exterior lies a wonderfully modern interior, creating a wonderful fusion of the old and the new.
The standout point of Holm House for us personally has to be the amazing Elemis spa tucked away inside. An instantly recognizable luxury brand, Elemis is renowned for the high-quality product they make, pair this with a massage and we guarantee you’ll feel your stresses melt away and leave Holm House feeling nothing but pampered.

The Celtic Manor Resort is the ultimate events space in Cardiff. Host of the 2010 Ryder Cup Golfing Tournament, with three different championship golf courses and set upon a sprawling almost 2000 acres of countryside the Celtic Manor resort has absolutely everything you could ever need.

Set upon the resort is 5 gorgeous restaurants that span cuisines from Thai to steak and an award-winning Forum spa along with a massive space to hold a full convention or exhibition and a whopping 31 different function rooms to accommodate the biggest event right through to the smallest. Looking for fun? After some team building or wanting to take everyone’s mind off of the grind of work after a busy corporate meeting? Celtic Manor of course have you more than covered. There are 2 adventure golf courses, a tree top adventure course, clay pigeon shooting and mountain biking – there is literally something for everyone here!

Looking for something really unique? Wanting to feel like royalty? Cardiff castle might just be the venue for you then. Nearly 2,000 years old, steeped in history and looking as if it came straight out of a fairy tale – Cardiff castle offers a truly unique experience right in the centre of the city. The castle is one of Wales’s leading heritage and cultural sights – and what better way to experience Wales and Cardiff than at the heart of its history?

Once a Norman Keep, the castle now features the regal Castle Apartments – these apartments were designed and created for one of the richest men in the world and can be dated back to the 1500s. There are a number of lavishly decorated rooms throughout the Castle Apartments, from the gold leaf covered Arab room to the ancient Banquet Hall.

Another venue at the heart of the history of Cardiff is the Temple of Peace or the Welsh National Temple of Peace and Health. The stunning grade II listed building dates back to the early 1930s and you certainly feel as if you’re stepping back in time as the venue is decorated in a gorgeous art-deco style. The Temple boasts a variety of different event spaces and can be worked for anything from a sparkling evening of food and drinks to a corporate conference.

The famous Marble Hall is an undeniably gorgeous space – bright open and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows. The stunning marble pillars create a striking atmosphere while the architecture of the ceiling is endlessly interesting, this room certainly makes us think of champagne dancing and gilded glamour. Wanting something a little more serious? The wood-panelled Council Chambers provide a totally different atmosphere from the Marble Hall, with the dark wood and walls lined with rows and rows of ancient books!
